Personal History

In this Blog I am going to discuss my own personal history. Well Lets start...I am 50% Portuguese, and 50% American. Well, Both of my Parents, Were born and raised in Portugal. I for one was not born in Portugal, But I was Baptized there.

Language: I speak both English and Portuguese. I was raised in New York. My mom speaks English but at home we only speak Portuguese. My dad is different though he speaks mostly English at home. So we kinda mix the languages together. =)

Why does Portugal and Brazil speak the same language?... Well as the story goes, Portugal owns Brazil which is why they speak the same language. Even though Portugal and Brazil are very far away from each other people still believe that Portugal is Brazil which is very wrong. They are two different countries.

My whole family is all 100% Portuguese. They all live there except for My mom, dad, sister, and of course me. My dad told me that my ancestors were Muslim.

Using Google

Topic #1 : Great Depression

My topic Is the Great Depression, In order to find the best results you need to go to advanced search on Google. Then I clicked on exact phrase and put in The Great Depression. And it gave me 2,340,000 results which is great because now I can have a great selection of websites that i can count on. But then i wrote something extra i wrote the "hobos" which is what the poor people were called, well the ones that were working on railroads asking for money. It gives Me a result of 67,800.

Topic#2: 9/11

My Second topic Is 9/11, for my search I did the same thing to search my second topic. And I found 172,000,000. But then i added an extra word Which was firefighters and it was narrowed down to 1,660,000 results. Then i added an extra word which was pentagon and i got 468,000 results which is less than half.=] Which is good enough to do a great book report.

Searching The Web

For my assignment, we have to search the web for two websites. One good site and one bad. My topics are Water Pollution, and Cold War.

Topic 1:
One Of My topics Is Water pollution. Water pollution is harming us, and our sea animals. And today It seems like we are not doing much to help our world. Bad website is... http://www.goveg.com/environment-waterwedrink.asp. This website is bad because they don't give alot of infomation about the topic. And the other website is good because they really explain the problems that we face day by day. They talk all about the terble things that we are we are doing to the world. And it explains the causes and how we can prevent it.

Topic 2: Cold War

The last topic i am going to write about is the Cold War. The Cold War was a terible battle between the United States and Soviet Union. Peer Review Of I Am

I am doing a Peer Review On Evita's I am Blog. She is currently living in Astoria, Queens. She I was born in Slovakia and moved here when she was about six years old. She use to go to I.S 10, and deeply misses it. She loves magic, conspiracy theories, and unsolved mysteries. Her hobbies include gymnastics, swimming, HTML/CSS, going online, making graphics on Adobe Photoshop, and listening to music.

Her profile is so far very good. I like the color full background and the paragraphs are well written. I enjoyed looking through it. The colors caught my eye, and the whole story really told me about her life.

I Am

Hi my name is Michelle. I am Half Portugese and Half American. I lived in New York all my life. I have traveled to many places out side of New York since I have been here. I have been in new york all my life and even some places in New York City I haven't been to.

Well, what else can i say???.....

Well, I was baptised in Faro,Portugal and have been going there every summer ever since. I like to cook, bake and hangout with my friends(who doesn't??..). I like to play sports like Baseball and Volleyball. I have one older sister, and I currently live in Astoria, Queens.

Well, about my old schools......

I use to go to Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel up till first grade. Then I tranfured to Imaculated Conseption up till third grade then I went to P.S 122 up untill I graduated then I went to I.S 141Q which I stayed from then on.

About J.H.S and Friends...

My experince in Jr High School was fun. I made friends and enjoyed every minute of the day with them. They were the best. Unfortually they went to other High Schools and left me along to explore my new school.

About my Life...

I am a very kind person, but I can be very tuff if I need to be. I like to dance, go to parties, and chat with my friends online. One of my favorite foods is noodles and meat balls. ITS SO GOOD!!! Anyways, I love to shop for cloths and go food shopping ( YAY FOOD!!!!=]).One of my nickname where Nickie. I got it because my friends thought it was a cute name to call me. (CRAZY)

Well what next.....

Okay, to continue the story of my me... Well, I graduated from I.S 141Q in June and now are happily going to a new High School in Long Island City called Information Technology High School. I am a family girl, and totally neat. I love puppies!!! I think they are so cute ! I like all type of music except country, rap, and heavy metal. I love to laugh especially when people do funny things.

What I am looking foward to doing in High School...

This year I am looking forward to having a fun year in high school. I wanna have a lot of friends so I can enjoy my four years in Info Tec. I really like this school so far. I have made new friends, with people I never knew before, which is good because it gives me a chance to open up more to new people.

Today On In My Adventure of H.S........

Well, so far I have made 5 friends and hopefully in the future (what i mean by "FUTURE" is the beginning of real H.S) I will make a lot more. I have been very shy this past couple of days and hopefully be able to open up more then I do now.
